🗓 Session 2 – 🌀🔥 Old Grinder

The party travels half a day to the Rulmland estate and finds it on fire.
They rescue six horses, including Miss Ivory.
Jaggen, hiding in a barrel, tells them:
- Countess Unper and shadowy allies attacked.
- Lord Rumlyn and family were taken to Old Grinder.

Using Pass Without Trace, the group advances stealthily.
Harlekk spots a lookout in the top window.
Dain hears voices, charges in; Zane thinks about flying but decides against it.
Voss Dain climbs in full plate with Xaniver’s Fey Step assistance.
Lock is picked, and they enter through the front.

Inside are three people warning about horrors below.
Zane immediately kills the wealthiest-looking one.
Harlekk blasts another—curled up and crying—into oblivion.
They kill Tobron, a hostile stablehand.
Upstairs:
- Fight with Reebraw and Sem.
- Reebraw tries to flee, is killed.
- Sem is cut down by Zane.

Harlekk scouts alone—finds a ritual circle and two corpses.
Present: Countess Unper, Eldon Lobo (bearded devil), Lord Rumlyn, and two hostages (Lady Rumlyn and young son).
Lady Rumlyn sacrifices herself to save her son, killed by Eldon.
Zane’s Fireball incinerates Countess Unper.
Devil is defeated in a brutal, close-quarters fight:
- Xaniver freezes Eldon for a full minute with Rime’s Binding Ice.
- Harlekk and Zane attack from range; Dain blocks escape.
- Eldon wounds Zane with a flaming dagger, but Zane survives.
